Aligning Outcomes, Assessment and Activities

Establishing an effective learning environment demands proficiency in both course design and teacher-student interactions (Fink, 2003, p. 1). Dr. L. Dee Fink emphasizes the taxonomy of significant learning, which is essential for course development. This taxonomy encompasses foundational knowledge, goal application, goal integration, human dimensions, caring goals, and learning-to-learn goals (Fink, 2003, p. 9). With these aspects in mind, I created a three-column table to develop the learning goals for a unit in Algebra 1 based on the introduction to exponential functions. My advanced math students will work through this unit as part of my innovation plan that utilizes blended learning in the advanced math classroom.

Below, you will find three documents that work together to create the goals for this course.
